WHY "LOPING" CROW? THE TROPHY BUCKLES OVER THE BAR MAY GIVE YOU A HINT. THE GAIT OF A HORSE IS SOMETHING TODD HARRELL KNOWS A THING OR TWO ABOUT WITH A COLLECTION OF CHAMPIONSHIPS TO PROVE IT. WHEN WE BUILT LOPING CROW DISTILLERY ON THE FAMILY FARM, LAND THAT HAS BEEN IN OUR FAMILY FOR OVER ONE HUNDRED YEARS, WE INCLUDED MANY MEANINGFUL DETAILS. WE BELIEVE DETAILS MATTER, IN WHISKEY AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

EVERY POST AND BEAM AND ROUGH SAWN PLANK WERE CUT BY HAND ON THE SAWMILL OUT BACK BY OUR FATHER AND MASTER DISTILLER, TONY DENNIS. THE VINTAGE WINDOWS DIVIDING THE TASTING ROOM AND BAR FROM THE PRODUCTION SPACE ARE FROM THE HOME OF OUR GREAT-GRANDFATHER. WE IMAGINE OUR GRANDFATHER SILAS SITTING UNDER THE BIG OAK TREE BESIDE THE BARN ON THE TAILGATE OF HIS SCOUT SMOKING HIS PIPE AND TELLING US TO BRING HIM A BOURBON NEAT.

THIS FARM HAS ALWAYS BEEN A GATHERING SPOT FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.  WE INVITE YOU TO GRAB YOUR PEOPLE AND JOIN OUR FAMILY AT THE FIRST DISTILLERY IN STANLY COUNTY.

TESTIMONIALS

What a wonderful place! I went with my wife, sister in law and new born and this was such a great place to visit. The staff is incredible, drinks are great, atmosphere is perfect and they even had entertainment and a food truck. Truly appreciate how great the staff was, can't wait to go back and visit again!

"I walked into Locust ABC and the clerk suggested this local distillery bottle. He said the distillery was down the road. I bought the bottle but was curious about the distillery so I drove 10mins down the road and found it. They weren't open yet but I was parked in the lot and while reading their website an old man came to my window and asked if he could help me. I told him I had just bought a bottle of bourbon and was curious about the distillery. He said, "I'm the man that made that bottle." It was the master distiller himself. A once in a life time experience. He even opened the doors, gave me a sample, and signed the bottle that I bought at the store. He and Will were very hospitable. I will forever have a bottle of Scout 74 on my shelf. Thank you, Tony and Will."

"Had a really great day here today. Really friendly staff and a cool family history. Their spirits are top notch and I would put them up against many major distilleries. They have their processes down and produce a superb liquor. So glad we came here today, will be back to visit for sure!"

"Absolutely great place! We've been here twice now and each time it has been wonderful. Their mixed drinks are some of the best we've had, the atmosphere is relaxed and genuine, and the people running it are so kind. We will absolutely keep coming back!"
